Storing intimate toys properly

Clean and dry first

After instructed cleaning, dry seams and recesses completely. Never seal a damp item in an airtight box. Follow specific instructions for electronic ports.

Separate your items

Use clean individual pouches or containers unless the manufacturer says otherwise. This limits dust, scratches and contact between incompatible materials. Keep away from leaking bottles and sharp fastenings.

Consider heat and batteries

Choose a dry place away from sunlight and heaters. Follow battery storage and charger guidance. Stop using damaged batteries or cables, and never charge under fabric.

Inspect before reuse

Check smell, surface, attachments and operation. Stickiness, cracks, deformation or overheating mean pausing use and contacting the manufacturer. A discreet box is useful, but cannot replace attention to condition.

Choose a place that makes inspection easy

Good storage starts with access and order rather than an expensive box. Pick a dry location where an item is not squeezed beneath heavy objects and can be checked before use. For privacy, a closed cupboard or separate container may help, but allow products to dry fully before enclosing them. Keep intimate products apart from household chemicals. An accidental leak can damage a surface even when the nearby bottle is an ordinary cleaning product.

Keep accessories with the correct model

With several devices, store the cable and manual beside the corresponding model. A neutral label or small number helps distinguish connectors and restrictions. An identical plug does not establish power compatibility. Before a long break, read the battery-storage section: no single charge percentage works for every device. For travel, check transport locking and protection from accidental activation. A separate pouch makes organisation easier, but it does not clean the item by itself.

Separate cleaning from packaging

An original box is not always ideal for storage: the inner material may retain moisture or its shape may obstruct drying. Check the manufacturer’s advice and do not close the item away immediately after washing. Pouches and containers also need care; dirty packaging can soil a clean surface again. Do not use fragrance to hide an unusual smell. First investigate its cause and the material’s condition. If products touch one another, confirm that storing those materials together is permitted.

Review your supplies periodically

Occasionally check lubricant and protective-product expiry dates, wrapper integrity and cable condition. Remove leaking bottles from shared containers and clean the container in a suitable way. Cracked items or changed surfaces should not remain available just in case without manufacturer advice. Mark products awaiting a warranty answer separately so they are not used again by accident. A simple organised space can reveal problems sooner than an attractive but overcrowded storage box.
